I made this painting during a long lockdown due to the coronavirus, which made me feel a bit insecure. Although I am used to being alone, I missed going out to concerts, museums, restaurants, shops, and meeting my loved ones. I felt strong and lonely at the same time.
I think this portrait says it all; is it unfinished? I myself am unfinished. It seems impossible to finish a 'selfie' like this. I am constantly learning, and I have the strong feeling that I will only be 'finished' when I am dead. In the meantime, I work and learn.
