A video of this Palestinian boy appeared on my timeline in late October 2023. It was the beginning of the heavy Israeli bombardments of Gaza in retaliation for the horrific Hamas attack on October 7, 1923. The poor child was in total shock and disoriented. Physically unharmed, but severely psychologically traumatized. I could not get the image out of my mind and have kept it ever since. It was only a year later that I created this painting.
